The company that built the new helicopters is paying for construction on the White House lawn.
President Donald Trump reported that Sikorsky, the company that built the new Marine One helicopters that transport the president shorter distances, will fund the construction of a new granite helipad at the White House. The new aircraft were ordered during President Trump’s first administration. The current Marine One helicopters are nearly 40 years old.
“For 50 years, we’ve been landing helicopters on grass – the grass is wet, soggy,” President Trump said in the Oval Office. “So now, we are building a BEAUTIFUL helipad. It’s got the seal of the White House in granite. REALLY a beautiful thing.”
President Trump said that the new helicopters are more than twice as powerful as the old ones. “Nobody planned for this,” he said. “So they landed the helicopter, and half the grass was sitting in front of the Oval Office front door!”
“Sikorsky is paying for it,” the president added. “Because they didn’t tell us how powerful these helicopters were, and they felt a little bit guilty.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump to be prudent as he implements upgrades to the White House and its grounds.
- For the president and members of his Cabinet to seek the Lord’s direction in their actions and decisions.
